WHODATHUNKIT?
Who would have thought that Jon Stewart, a charismatic witty fellow from Comedy Central's "Daily Show" could out fox the belligerent and abusive Bill O'Reilly? Well now that I put it that way ... I guess it's not a big suprise. Jon, as a guest on Bill's show, does an amazing job spinning Bill right around (reference the section on puppets voting). I got a great laugh out of this whole transcript!
It's these little treasures that keep me going.
For those interested, I had a fine day. Had a good lunch (home-made spaghetti sauce). Experienced an earthquake. Did good work for my boss. Played with the cats. Made good use of my "Kiss me I donated blood today" sticker, thank you Rob. Rocked out recycling expanded poly styrene, Ok collecting it for recycling. Paid my bills. --You weren't expecting anything exciting, were you?
Go read about Jon Stewart!

!
It begins ... my blog! Inspired by Drew's Blog, I'm starting my own. For those familiar with this gem, I don't hope to duplicate Drew's dry intelligent sense of humor, but rather brandish my own unique stream-of-conscious style ... for those of you familiar with me, you already know what I'm talking about!
What I like about blogging is that one can capture one's thoughts, feelings, hopes, and dreams rattling around one's head on a daily basis, similar to a diary. But, there's a key difference. There's an audience out there. Keeps one from too much introspection.
Today, Rob cleaned out the fridge. His response, "When you look into the abyss, the abyss looks into you." Yes, it was bad. Very bad.
After three months of traveling for work and family fun ... our house was left alone to lick its wounds. The cats were no help at all. Even after repeated requests, they picked up nothing. Indeed, they developed a penchant for eating our best wool sweaters. So now, after a two weekend reprieve, we're ready to put the house (and ourselves!) back together - a la Branagh's St. Crispin's Day Speech, "Once more into the breach!"
For those of you who would like to kill more time browsing the web, go to Arts & Literature Daily. It is one of my favorite web sites - good long articles that are highly educational and thought provoking. It's perfect for those who wish to spend another hour or so online - avoiding cleaning - I MEAN honing one's fine intellect.
